Turf Type Tall Fescues.....

  • Are deep rooted, giving the plant better drought tolerance
  • Are primarily a bunch-type grass, although many newer varieties spread laterally.
  • Are cool season grasses.
  • Are durable under heavy foot traffic once they are established.
  • Can be mixed with a small amount of bluegrass to offer superior traffic tolerance and repair ability.
  • Contain endophytes, a fungus that resides within the plant. It is a beneficial for warding off above-ground chewing insects, but can be harmful to grazing livestock.
  • Are tolerant to partial shade.
